The Latest Improvements to our
Growing Dome
® Greenhouse Kit

We are constantly up-leveling our product, and have recently implemented several upgrades to increase the longevity of your Growing Dome. Some are included, some have an upgrade fee.

Lifetime® Wood Treatment

We are now using Lifetime® Wood Treatment to treat the dome struts. With Lifetime® only one application is needed, ever! This treatment is completely safe and harmless, containing absolutely no solvents, or VOC’s (volatile organic compound). Lifetime® is 100 % water based, 100 % non toxic, and non-flammable!

Multi-Wall Polycarbonate Upgrade
5-wall glazing to replace the 3-wall/Triple wall glazing
Our new polycarbonate has an improved insulation value from R 2.5 to R 3.03. Light transmission decreases from 72% to 62%, this has not been a problem.

New Bottom Plate Options
Due to our experience with moving existing domes to new locations, we have noticed the pressure treated lumber bottom plate lasts significantly longer than other options we have tested. The reason we have not always used pressure treated is due to our customers' concerns about chemically treated wood. However, the treated lumber is covered with sheet metal on the inside, and on the other side with fiber cement siding. The dome then sits on a ring of washed gravel which drains the moisture away, so the pressure treated portion does not come in contact with the soil.

Several building departments require the pressure treated bottom plate, which is termite resistant. The Pressure Treated Bottom Plate is now a standard addition to all Dome sizes at no extra cost. Please do check with your local building department requirements before upgrading to redwood.

The alternative to the Pressure Treated Bottom Plate is the Redwood Bottom Plate, see cost to upgrade to redwood below.

HardiPanel Siding
Fiber Cement Siding is now standard!
At no extra cost we are now using fiber cement siding which replaces the
T1-11 siding that we have used in the past.

Metal Glazing Strips
These custom designed aluminum trimstrips go on the outside of the Growing Dome covering the joint sealing tape which extends the life of the tape. Enquire for upgrade prices for new domes and maintenance kits for existing domes.

Solar Fans
For the 26 foot Dome and solar fan upgrades, we now supply a more energy efficient fan that produces the same airflow as our previous fans. It has many more blades and even works in cloudy conditions.
