Multi-Wall
Polycarbonate Upgrade
5-wall glazing to replace 3-wall/Triple
wall glazing
We are pleased to announce the new polycarbonate
has an improved insulation value from R 2.5 to R 3.03. The light
transmission decreases from 72% to 62%, but this has not been a
problem. There is no extra charge for this upgrade
New
Wall Plate Options
We have recently made a change to our lumber kit
policy. Due to our recent experience with moving domes to new locations,
we have noticed the pressure treated lumber bottom plates last significantly
longer than those without. The reason we have not always used them
is because of our customer’s concerns about chemically treated
wood. However, the treated lumber is covered with sheet metal and
the other side with the T1-11. The dome then sits on washed gravel
which drains the moisture away, and the treated portion is not in
contact with the soil.
We have also noticed that more and more building
departments are making this a definite requirement. This lumber
is also termite resistant. We would like to notify all our customers
that we are making the pressure treated bottom plate a standard
addition to all our domes at no extra cost.
For those who do not want this addition there is a more expensive
alternative in the form of redwood or recycled plastic lumber and
we will be happy to discuss this option. Also for folks in termite
prone areas we have a fiber cement siding option to replace the
T1-11 siding.

Glazing Trim Kits
This improvement is for new domes & ones in need of
maintainance. The aircraft tape has seved us well over the years,
with a life of 5 to 10 years, but custom designed aluminum strips
over a sealing tape will last even longer. Enquire
for upgrade price for new domes and maintenance kits.
Solar
Fans
For the 26 ft dome and solar fan upgrades, we are
supplying a new type of solar powered cooling fan. The fan is a
little smaller, but is much more energy efficient and produces the
same airflow as our previous fans. It has many more blades and even
works in cloudy conditions. There is no extra charge for this new
fan above the upgrade price.
